The second round of the British Landboard and Kite Buggy Championships took place this weekend in Redcar, England. I arrived at the event a day early, on the Friday to enjoy some free riding time and watch the BKSA Pro Kitesurfers doing their thing!

Friday was windy and I went out on my Slingshot RPM 12m to make the most of one of the best beaches in the UK. All the current BKSA Landboarders were riding well so I had to make sure I was keeping up with them, by throwing down some powerful Handlepasses such as the Slim Chance, Shifty 3 and my favourite at the moment, the Kiteloop 3. The best bit about these events is riding with your friends and seeing who can do the best tricks, whilst pushing each other to learn more! I much prefer that then riding against them in a formal competition these days.

After my session I took some time to watch the Pro Kitesurfers riding in some tough, choppy conditions. Congratulations to Dan Sweeney and Polly Crathorne for topping there categories!

The next day was the land competitions, I was judging for the second event in a row because it is a good opportunity to watch the new guys that are coming through the rankings. Despite marginal wind conditions, the competition for the Pro Landboarders was just about completed with the following results.

1) Laurent Guyot

2) Ash Garwood

3) Abe Alzouman

Unfortunately after this, the wind did not returned for the rest of the weekend, however its always good to chill out with your friends afterwards.
